  • Double decanted for sediment and drunk several hours later over several hours.

A mature nose with porcini, bouillon, rose, balsam, iron, and tar. At first seemingly more savory and umami than fruit driven yet with lovely perfume. On the palate, it's mid weighted with a softness and grace of the vintage, yet has enough structure to carry it. This has excellent palate presence with equally impressive lift and balance. More of the same savory, meaty, ferrous, mushroom notes, but a lovely dried rose petal, balsam and cherry fruit comes with air time. Finishes quite long with more savory, umami, notes but with building very long balsam and dried rose petal notes. Over a few hours, the perfume keeps waxing and taking center stage on the finish. A little less impressive than the last time I had this 8 years ago (sadly no TN on that bottle), but it's a really lovely bottle of wine that for me is drinking well. It's on the back end of peak drinking, so drink up if you have them. It's lovely right now.

Pretty terrific with a marinated flap steak. The umami and meaty notes really singing.
