  • Ruby-garnet, rust at rim; blueberries, cherries, strawberries, caramel; semi-sweet, black cherry, caramel, vanilla, medium body, good acidity, decent heat, firm ripe tannins, lingering finish.
Ripe fruit and toasty oak which will integrate over time. Shows that a decent fortified can be made in a good Niagara vintage. Good on its' own or with flavourful cheeses. Well done!

  • Completely bathed in new oak. The vanilla nose is just too much to overcome. Palate is well balanced with decent acidity and delicious ripe fruit. Shame you can't ignore the nose. Will return or give away the other bottle.
