I drank another bottle of this recently but I like this bottle better for some reason. I smell vanilla and what I best can describe as chocolate covered cherries. The wine is very dark.

Wednesday night Chateau Davyd drinks. Poured into decanter and drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of Dutch Lady chocolate milk, condensed milk, sweet vanilla, earth, sweet black cherries, slight black pepper. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (15.5% that is hardly felt), smooth polished high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet black cherries, black plums, coconut, vanilla, chocolate, earth. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Highly controversial style of wine. Would leave many undecided if you love it or hate it, or really just can't make up your mind. Lots of oak influence and even has people questioning whether this has been artificially sweetened or manipulated. Well, my take is that this is still a dry wine, and delving in beyond the oak, the underlying fruit is nice and pure. Enjoyable drinking. Organic wine. 95% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Very dark colour, with little aging showing. The nose was incredibly vanilla (almost like opening a bottle of vanilla). Smooth, very rich chocolate, almost sweet. Very hot (15.5%). Not typical of a wine from Italy. It seems a bit pushed. I enjoyed it, but was very surprised by its characters.

I smell strong vanilla and raisins. It also gives you a since of sweet chocolate. It has good legs for the age and tannins are mellow.
I drank this with artichokes and tortellini during the coronavirus.

Maturing nicely. Complex, very concentrated, and slightly raisinated. Interesting.
