This inexpensive wine has always been on the borderline as to buy or not for me. When the sales, promos, and rebates all line up I pick up 6 bottles. The good is it's not excessively sweet, it has a decent amount of body, noticeable tannin, and isn't too fruity tasting. The bad is it has a "stemmy" flavor (fermented with low quality grapes, leaves and stems), and has that cooked, creamy, mass produced, new world taste. It laid down for 5 years well. It's worth $5 though.

Served @17c/63f, with hamburgers. Red Berry nose, smooth, full-bodied, medium finish. Typical well-crafted NoCal Cabernet. Good w/food or for sipping. Good P/V. Noticed there was heavy sediment at bottom of the bottle after finishing.

House wine at Morton's. Not bad, better than I expected. Not much complexity, not distinctive, but good honest CA cab fruit. Dark color medium full body, dark cherries, clean though not long finish. Decent quaff, and good steak pairing at a fair price.

Really aged well. Quite surprised for a wine bought at Sam's and forgot about.

Drinkable, but very generic...
