Small Vineyards Tasting, Round 1 (Seattle, WA, USA): OK, this is a bit more interesting. This is a pretty light-scaled Barolo with a pretty nose of dried flowers, anise, perfume, and a light hint of tar. The palate is black and leathery with very nice balance and surprisingly supple and approachable mouthfeel. This has good persistence and grip. Alas, it never really developed much in the glass and seems like a reasonable QPR Barolo but nothing to get totally crazy over.
