Nose of blackberry, cherry, barbecued beef and lavender. With time, a hint of milk chocolate is revealed (Cherry Ripe). The palate shows very high acidity (typical of Marlborough Pinot Noir), with just a hint of vinegar. There is still a small amount of firm tannin at the core of the wine. There are flavours of blackberry and strawberry, but the acidity lays flavours of red apple and unripe pear over the top.
