Jeff makes some very nice tasting wine for sure, and they are crowd-pleasers. What they aren't as good at are being varietally accurate. In other words, they taste like Jeff makes them taste. That's not really a criticism, just a fact, a style. It's heavy handed, heavily oaked, tasty wine. I enjoy the rare Alicante Bouchet he makes a bit more than this Barbera, and much prefer Scott Harvey's Barbera to this one. But put it in front of me and I'll enjoy it! 87-88 pts.

Purplish red in color, sowing older than it is. Nose of cherrise and strawberries. These fruit carry through in the mouth, with a hint of mint and cocoa following through. Tannins, the little that are present, modestly lend to a loose structure. Not a blockbuster wine by any means, but quite enjoyable none the less. Drinking at its peak right now.

A nice wine but it can wear on you after a bit, it's very much an acid bomb really, it's in your face looking for action!

Nicely balanced great acidity, ridiculous for the price.

Classic Runquist wine, from the best Barbera vineyard that I know of. Very good food wine, and great with the family. PNP anytime!
