Final bottle. Lovely intensity from the grapefruit bitters. Could only be Riesling from Erbach / Hattenheim. Feels like coming home. Not a bad sentiment on Christmas Eve.

Unlike the bottle tasted in March 2017, this one is in fine fettle. Relatively light in stucture, but with good fruit (ripe citrus, hint of white peach) and spicy depth, the ripe but fresh acidity delivers an attractive ‘nervosité’, pure and clean expression, juicy and lively, hint of crème pâtissière, and some of the earthy notes to be expected from the Marcobrunn terroir, slightly light on the finish, but good length. Lacks the gravitas and power for a higher score, but it is a lovely wine in its own right. Drink soon.

Good density and weight (13% ABV), earthy style, well-integrated lively acidity, but on the other hand it feels just a bit dull and lacks expression. I have a feeling this may be due to low-level TCA. Retaste. Not rated.
