Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Despite being affected by TCA, there was good concentration of pungent yellow citrus and pineapple in this wine. This dry riesling seems to be at peak. Having enjoyed numerous bottles of this wine since 2003, the Sauvage in this vintage has substituted a repertoire of sweetish yellow fruits in place of the Chablis-like austerity of its youth. This entry-level wine has surprised with its ability to last and benefit from a decade's worth of cellaring. The previous bottle had in 05.2012 was very good plus and I have no doubt this one would also have given the same level of satisfaction, but for the taint.
