  • Another very good showing. Served too cold (restaurant list), this moved pretty quickly through a crystalline liquid mineral phase and into an excellent expression of the grape. No sign of oak or malo, just honeycrisp apples, crushed rocks, and white floral. An exceptional value. recommended, thru 2016.

  • Shockingly good for just $11. I was not looking forward to ordering something from the list, but this restaurant had a good, modestly-priced selection, so I took a chance. Once I got past the bothersome synth cork, I/we were treated to a pale toward straw colored wine, more reminiscent of a village level Chablis than a Chardonnay (that I'd never even heard of before) from Puglia. Aromas followed the color, bright, fresh, nothing overdone. Minerals, some hay, a punch of under-ripe apple, and seashells. The taste confirms the nose, this is not only correct, it's delicious. Minerals first, some really tasty fruit, heck, it even had a mid-palate. And a finish. Great surprise on the night and I dare say in a single-blind, that village level Chablis would have been a guess. For those that eschew too much malo, oak and/or popcorn butter in their Chardonnay, this is a good candidate for a case buy. recommended, drink thru 2015.

just right with some spicy calamari fritti
