Opened and let sit a while. Dark berries on the nose and palate. Kind of monotone in nature. Finish was okay but flat. Probably should have drank these a few years back. Served with the leftover steak from Saturday.

A deeply coloured wine, with a somewhat reticent nose of blackfruits, plums and light oak. More blackfruits and tar notes on the medium-full bodied palate, with the healthy tannins my favourite part of the wine right now. Somewhat simple but still tasty and well structured (B+/A-).

Cedar and vanilla on the nose. Medium fruit but without distinction. Tannins are smooth a velvety med cherry with a lingering finish. Minimal secondary flavors, but the balance of tannins, acidity, and sugar make this a very pleasant experience.

(Tamarack Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) A lightly aromatic wine with high toned notes of fresh herbs, plum, and a mixture of barrel spices. The palate is elegantly styled with a firm grip of chewy tannins. An enjoyable wine that needs some additional time in the bottle. 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Bacchus, Dionysus, Weinbau, Alder Ridge, and Tapteil vineyards. Aged 24 months in French oak (65% new). 14.48% alcohol. 1,218 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
