Decided to open (what I think is) our last bottle of this wine, based on our previous bottle less than 2 weeks ago. This bottle was definitely better and was reminiscent of our first bottle. Slo-oxed for about 15 minutes. The color is a clear deep purple. The medium to plus bodied palate yielded dark red fruit, some blue/black fruit with a touch of prune, a good dose of spice, some pepper, a touch of tannin, and lots of acidity to tie it all together. Should hold for several years.

Our previous bottle of this wine was 2 1/2 years ago and this bottle was showing the additional age. Decanted for 20 minutes. The color is a clear medium purple (lighter than the previous). The nose had notes of dark fruits and chocolate. The palate was medium bodied with blue and black fruit, black licorice, spice and pepper. The tannins were completely integrated and lots of acidity ties it all together. I would suggest drinking up as this wine appears to be on the down-slope.

undrinkable. tart with a distinctly awful finish. Same problem with an earlier bottle 3 years ago. three more in my cellar and I fear they all are also spoiled. Can;'t believe Tensley would have released them tasting like this. They have been carefully stored under ideal conditions in my cellar. Anyone else had this experience with this vintage of Noir?
Tensley is one of my favorite producers and this has always been their highly touted Reserve wine. Other vintages have been magnificent. My first bottle of 3 is flawed and shows signs of bottle fermentation so I’m assuming it wasn’t stable before being bottled. I might Coravin my remaining bottles just to see.

Great balance between sweet fruit notes (stewed blackberries and blackcurrants) and savory notes (olive tapenade). Delicious and interesting.
