Been a long time returning to this one…Violets, blueberries and dry forest brambles on the nose. A very concentrated body of sweet, red fruits and a backbone that drives into a long finish that is not tannic but very, very mineral.

Cabo San Lucas/Puerto Vallarta Vacation (#2 of 6) Brilliant vineyard designate from our favorite Napa-based Zinfandel producer. Cherry and plum with a strong core and good acidity. Paired with arrachera (marinated & flame-cooked flank steak) from Pancho's Restaurant in CSL. Our last of the great 2012 vintage

A very closed nose at this time, some cherry kirsch and a trace of plum. The body is very powerful with boldly concentrated sweet red fruits, balancing out the strong alcohol content (15.1%). The flavors even more strongly reminiscent of cherry kirsch. A nice touch of minerality, and tannins that were perfect with a bayonet ribeye slow roasted on the charcoal grill.

PNP and experienced a very well made Zinfandel. No formal notes taken.
