Opened and poured for spaghetti. Mature coloring - oranging and bricking evident. A little barn on the nose, slight. Lots of red and black cherry. A little toast and rhubarb. Full bodied, tart, acids keeping the heavy fruit in check. Some sweetness still, but well blanced. A little pucker power. With air yes some red licorice starting to emerge.....gaining depth.

Opened a dark deep ruby. Full body. Some funk on the nose and a little cork. Getting better with air. With air licorice notes, blackberry and cassis. Acids showing up with puckering. Better than I remember.

Paired with pizza. This shiraz showing deep coloration. Old wood, cedar, oak, cassis, filigreed layers of plum, cherry and tea. Sweet attack, decent structure yet somewhat acidic. Fine finish of smooth tannins. Definitely in the secondary phase, yet holding ok.

Popped the second of six, and this one was better than the last one from about two years ago. Pours dark purple, thick with legs. Nose is a bit restrained, but mid palate and finish are much better than remembered. Some barnyard in the nose blew off after one day open. Cork was slightly stained, this might have gotten a bit of air. Fruity, with blackberry, plum, prune, raisin, with sweet red berry notes. Refined tannins.

Impressive black fruit nose, but less complexity than nose indicated, acidic, smooth, medium length finish,
