Picked these up for $15 Clams at BP Wines. Perfect cork on this 17 year old wine. Pop and pour. The nose on this wine smells of dark fruits, moist earth, and wafting cigar smoke. The palate reveals a stronger example of the nose, and the initial drops taste of slightly stewed plums. The palate reveals its age, and the characteristics of this wine can only be found in old bottles. There is still enough acidity and fruit to complement each other and the finish actually still has some round tannin. The finish is only about 5 seconds in length. Still, this wine with this performance, at this age, and for this price in unbelievable. I'm glad I took a leap of faith and bought 6 of these with no information.
