  Light purple to the rim. Nose of dusty dark fruit with some smoked meats. medium expressive. Body is surprisingly medium bodied give the Syrah and tannat components. More red fruit expressed with the tannins largely resolved. Still balanced but the finish was a bit short( astringent) therefore dropped out of the outstanding scores. Not a lot of exposure to Portuguese still reds but a more balanced wine than past wines. Might develop more but it is my only bottle.
