  While not changing rapidly, it is time to drink this wine. It is entirely on tertiary notes with no remnants of fruit. A good example of this traditional style but a little limited by its capacity..

  While not the best example from Rioja, the wine was solid and quite enjoyable. First bottle from the producer.
  As expected, the color was quite evolved showing a significant amber ring. Color instability residue on bottle.
  The aroma was the tell-tale cedar infused sweet fruit that you expect from an aged Rioja. The wine could have a little more depth and complexity, but this is their basic Rioja and at 34 years, it is not going to improve. The fruit tannins were all dissolved with oak tannins still holding the wine together, clean but somewhat short finish, no reason to hold this wine any longer...

  De color rubi rojizo brillante, limpio, vivo, luminoso, de capa media media. Reflejos rojizos y anaranjados. Borde cobrizo, amplio.
  
  Nariz franca, limpia, sin mucha expresión de crianza salvo un matiz de cacao tostado que fluctúa, viene y se va. Hay una buena cantidad de fruta roja madura, licorosa, confitura de naranja amarga, con tímidos apuntes de madera joven y vainilla. Sencillo y bien hecho.
  
  En boca recuerda a los crianzas clásicos de los 70, el Bordón de Franco-Españolas o Viña Cumbrero de Montecillo. Seco, especiado, ligero, fresco, con mínima presencia de la madera y una cantidad notable de fruta roja reducida. Mantiene una potente acidez, tan propia de la cosecha del 82, y un deje casi amargoso y balsámico. Se bebe muy muy fácilmente.

  70% tempranillo, 30% garnacha - 12% vol.
  Uva proveniente de las 40 hectáreas propiedad de la bodega, en el municipio de Sojuela, y de uvas compradas a viticultores locales. Permanece durante 18 meses en depósitos de hormigón y acero en los que finaliza la fermentación maloláctica y se estabiliza antes de ser trasegado. Criado durante 18 meses en barricas usadas de roble americano, francés y yugoslavo. Sometido a un total de 3 trasiegas manuales. Filtrado con membrana antes de ser embotellado. Un mínimo de 6 meses de guarda en botellero en los calados de la bodega antes de ser comercializado.
