Best CA syrah I've tasted. Neither a fruit bomb nor hot mess. Nose of dark fruit w olive, a bit salty, a bit of meat or subtle funk. Echoes on mouth with pleasant acidic pucker and fine tannins. Didn't get that old world iron but excellent new world syrah to be pared w steak but also a creamy duck w figs or similar rich sauces that require that acidic palate cleaning.

Flat and uninteresting. It starts with a hint of taste and ends similarly but the middle is empty save for a little funk sous bois, but that's being a little generous. It should be so lucky. This is odd. Unti generally produces solid European style wines but it is hard to even distinguish that this is a Syrah. In fact it is hard to define it as a wine.

Love Unti wines and Syrah Benchland is one of their best. Dark fruit, spice and great blend of tastes. Can't wait till our next visit to the gem in Dry Creek Valley.

Delicious - opened, poured, and (mostly) let sit for 1-2 hours before then drinking with a filet mignon dinner. Great meal combination, but wine could also be consumed on its own. Nice balance of fruit and acidity with smooth finish. Great structure which could age. Everyone enjoyed the bottle. Planning to order more direct from UNTI.

Unti (at the tasting room): Beautiful nose, this is a forceful yet elegant syrah, with much more structure than the regular syrah.
