Simply Outstanding! This was my last bottle of this 2010 vintage and it is delicious. This bottle is not yet at its peak as the Cherry fruit shows through the palate in a sweet spot between baked and fresh flavors. Time has allowed the secondary and tertiary flavors to be rock solid in place. Cola, California Sage, limestone minerals, and a very light touch of vanilla. The scales on this baby are balanced and the finish is a solid medium plus. This is my last bottle and this one could have gone much further.

Drank with no open or decant time. Seems young at first with syrupy raspberry, ripe cherry, dried herbs, and slight vanilla. Initially very candied but after an hour it begins to fall off leaving some bitterness and earthy qualities. I would say drink now.

Rite of Spring at Chevalier Wines (Chicago, IL): Blueberries and overly sweet, with lots of confected red fruit. I had forgotten that pinot noir could have residual sugar at all. By the way, throwing a bunch of oak on top of that doesn't do this any favours.

(Bien Nacido Vineyards Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley) Dark cherry red color; aromatic, baked cherry, beet root nose; tight, very tart cherry, cranberry, tart raspberry puree, mineral, lightly saline palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (14.2% alcohol)

On the heavier side but balanced with ripe red fruit, cola spice, and plenty of oak.

Chevalier Fine Wines Tasting, Featuring Fine Vines Selections (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Ultra ripe with a coca cola syrup note that isn't my fav. Not my style wine.
