An interesting Zin that was probably better a couple years ago. Out of the wine fridge, I opened and let sit for an hour and was initially impressed with the aromas and flavors of blackberries and blueberries, together with dark chocolate, leather, and pepper--almost like a California Syrah. A couple of hours later, the wine came up to room temperature and lost some of the fruit, leaving the strong black pepper and 15.2% alcohol with a fairly heavy body. I have two more bottles and expect to drink them in the next six months, decanting and drinking from the wine fridge.
First time I have had this wine. Dark berry, with hints of pepper and chocolate ( ? ) on the nose, unexpected. Big, full body. Fruit forward, blueberry, plum, and licorice. Smooth tannins, and a nice long finish. I like this Zinfandel!

Removed cork; let stand for 1 hour. Tight tannins & pepper. 2nd glass 30 min later was richer, fruitier, less pepper - still big. Needs more cellar time or an hour+ decant.

Amazing bottle of wine. Dark raspberry and blueberry with a hint of pepper on the nose. Deep dark fruit taste that lasts forever. True Howell Mountain. Wish I had a lot more.

Quick 5 min decant, then rebottled for car ride. Opened again 1 hour later. A dense yet smooth Zin with blackberry, earth & a touch of black pepper. Tannins present. I'm holding remaining bottles to try one again in a few years (2019).
