A treat to taste an old bottle from a historic CA winery: the wine for me however, was more intellectually interesting than pleasurable. The aromatics and the palate were very much like a dry vintage port (as you often read R. Parker describe some wines) - dark fruits, some volatile acidity, a nutty wrapper, and some ink. The palate showed some of the aromatics, but the fruit portion of it was dried out.
