  • This was way better than expected. I had to swallow my pride and rescind some previous prejudices I had thinking Robert Hall was just a slight upscale from all those wines made in Manteca, Ca. This is not an exemplary Merlot, but it does have interesting, nuanced flavors and aromas. The color is dark red almost to purple. The nose has some nice cherry, cedar and tobacco things going on. Though not exactly rich, there are some black cherry and black currant flavors across the palate. Some earthy, graphite and pepper secondary flavors. Just enough oak to round things out. The finish brings red raspberry and blackberry.
