Dark plum-color. Decanted for 1 hour and then drank it as it continued decanting for another couple of hours. Rebottled and tried the next day. Day 1 was good. On day 2 the front fell off of it, but it developed a very strong white pepper on the back end that I did not detect on day 1. I would say it was an acceptable bottle for the price ($38 US). Expected a little more depth given its age.

A weaker showing than previously. Faint signs of quality, but generally alcoholic and thin. This wine may be in precipitous decline, but it is very possible this half-bottle was damaged.

Very youthful deep ruby-plum color. Lovely wood influence on a ripe and inviting, if somewhat reticent, nose. Palate a bit hollow, then spicy, on the way to a warm, sweet, fruity, pleasingly tannic finish. Nice Margaux elegance, great balance and structure for drinking now and for the next 2-5 years. A remarkable success from a cru bourgeois, an excellent value.

Questionable at the start but it needed time. Give this one a couple years.
