Earthy cherries. Light, as is the 2011 vintage generally in Oregon. Too cold for the first glass to get much else. With time and air, it gained a bit more depth, but not a ton more complexity. Not quite as nice as the Roserock, but still solid and enjoyable if you like the lighter side of Pinot.

Thin and oak dominant without much fruit. Hints of roasted coffee and vanilla on the bouquet are interesting, but there's very little other than oaky pepper on the palate. Wouldn't buy again. Second tasting note on 5.28.16: This finally redeems itself after a two-day decant to show light red fruit with hints of earth. The dominant oak faded after two days. It needs at least an overnight decant.

Edit: I let it open up, and air out, and it's still thin. Expression has usually had some nice Pinot Noirs, and I'll let the other bottle of this one sit for a few months before opening, but so far, it's disappointing. Nice wine, but they've done better. If you can still find the 2007, buy that instead. That year was wonderful. Here's hoping that letting it sit for a while improves it.

Earthy. Bigger than the last bottle, and evolving well.

Not sure yet. It's nice, but a bit thin, somehow.
