Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Made from young vines of the Brand vineyard. A bright, satisfying nose of orange peel, honey, stonefruit and smoke. On the palate full bodied and rich yet surprisingly lifted and energetic. Can't say the acidity is really there to be felt under the concentration but instead there is actually a tannic sensation towards the spicy finish. Despite the ripeness the fruit seems weirdly restrained or at least hard to pinpoint, though the honey and orange peel are definite to be found on the palate also. Quite dry, though I wouldn't be surprised if there were 10-20 g/l sugar since Alsatian PG has the ability to really hide its residual sugar. Overall really powerful and captivating, and most probably in need of some years aging to achieve better harmony.
