Medium garnet in colour. Pronounced nose intensity with developing notes of fig, prune, dried cranberry, cooked red plum, toast, cedar, savoury, smoke, tobacco, violet, rose. Dry, high acidity, tannin and alcohol. Full-bodied, pronounced flavour intensity and long finish.

A more delicate result than many might be expecting in Amarone. Organic farming, traditional cellar, and a brilliant second generation that's continually in pursuit of higher quality. Somewhat closed down at first, this requires time in the cellar more than anything else, but if opening now, I suggest 5-6 hours of air in wide bottom decanter. Precise, red/black fruits, loam, mineral, some roasted chestnut. Med+>full bodied, with plenty of fresh acidity, and a finish that's only avg>avg+ today. I'll hold a few more years before opening another. Lovely, elegant style. For its full potential, it's easily recommended
Dissapointing - have had many wines from Ca La Bionds - normally they are excellent but not this time. Hope it was the bottle as I have another five....
