  Golden with brass hue, medium intensity. Mature, medium(+) intensity nose. Complex and intense. Lager beer, pineapple, citrus, oak. A very tiny hint of VA. On the palate a tounch of sweetness, medium(+) acidity, medium body. 13%. Flavours as boquet + a slight oxidized note (no petroleum/bicycle workshop to be found). Concentration and intensity. Tweed texture. Very long aftertaste ending with lemonzest. Exquisite!
  
  Day three and still going strong. Just added a tone of bitter almond in nose and mouth, plus accentuated oxidative notes.
  
  Fermented in 500 l barrels.

  This is why I love the Pfalz Riesling! Concentrated, intense and powerful wine. Quite a lot of oak but not at all overwhelming. Massive lemon fruit, sweet peach, honey and a touch of petroleum. Powerful and long but still refined and energetic. Among the better dry Rieslings I have tried. Fantastic right now!

  Direkt nach dem Öffnen sehr vegetabil (nicht unangenehm).
  
  Dann recht reife Riesling-Nase mit angenehm verhaltener Frucht (gelber Apfel, etwas Ananas-Exotik), grüner Mandel, etwas Hefegebäck und kalkigen Noten. Mit mehr Luft wird’s tatsächlich auch noch kräutrig (hätte das zu Waldmeister sortiert). Dazu deutlich holzgeprägt.
  Am Gaumen mit sehr hoher, aber auch sehr saftiger Säure. Ungemein trinkanimierend. Tolle Frucht. Andeutungsweise mit nun doch dunklerer Mineralität.
  Dann allerdings mit deutlichem Restzucker, der zwar die Säure balanciert, allerdings auch Zug nimmt und etwas den Raum für den eigentlich mineralisch ausklingenden Mittelgaumen und Abgang nimmt. Es findet sich dann eher ein deutlich karamelligem Abgang.
  
  Der Wein ist trotzdem in sich sehr stimmig, kraftvoll und die hohe Komplexität macht schon Freude.
  
  Wiedervorlage in frühestens zwei Jahren.

  Herbs, flint, slight petrol, round, ripe apple, all hallmarks of a great riesling. Wood is still showing at the moment but it is controlled and not overbearing
