Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 89 points

  • 89 seems to be a score that works for this. Decanted for 30 minutes. Dark red color with a nose of black fruit and oak that at the beginning showed earth and green vegetables, but eventually transitioned into a sweet, almost port-like smell. This wine is rich with intense black fruit, vanilla, herbs, a little cocoa, and black licorice on the finish that reminded me of the old black scotties candy. Well balanced, firm and easy to drink. Different but very nice.

  • Needs a little time to open up, bot once it does it's excellent. Dark fruit, oak, earth, spices. Robust tannins, but well balanced.

  • A very attractive nose with restrained, balanced hedgerow fruits. Very nice on the palate. There’s good development on the palate and a nice character and depth.

  • The nose on this deep dark red wine is very restrained after opening the bottle, but with time gives way to herbal notes, combined with cassis, cherry, and some earthy coffee bean aromas. Big oak at first that show with vanilla and tannin. I feared that this might just be an oak monster, but with time it really developed into something interesting. Flavors of dark red fruits, chocolate, coffee, and an underlying herbalness, make this wine stand out from it's peers. While a big wine at 14.5% it handles it very well and I would love to see its development in about 4-5 years.

  • Very nice. Tons of clear fruit with little to no wood present. Drank over 2 days and was just as good the second day. Will be buying more of this.
