Cotes du Rhone, A few treats and WS Game 1 (Jeff Kings): I liked this far more than the group. To me it was at peak, good fruit but more depth than the others. I had not had this wine before. $20, I found it a very nice value. Cherries and dark cherries and a bit of spice on the nose. Nice juicy texture. Good depth with cherries, dark cherries and some Asian spice on the palate. Nice finish. I would like to try this in a better vintage.

Lots of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and bramble, along with a faint hint of red licorice, mushroom and earth. Losing its tannins in exchange for some surprising sour tartness that was not present in previous bottles. Still a wonderful companion for food.

Wife: This is really smooth and a bit smokey. Me: It tastes like a yummy cherry cake crossed with Band-Aid. Wife: Yes! Exactly. But fresh Band-Aid. Like when it's new and just opened. And high quality cherry cake. Me: Okay, that's our notes. Last time we tried, I said it had raspberry, strawberry and red licorice. Do we have any of that now? Wife: Maybe a bit of red licorice, but go with the cherry cake and Band-Aid thing.

Quite attractive tartness; not a huge amount of fruit or depth. Fair but unexciting
