Second Sunday Group: 2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (R&D's): Double decanted off its sediment a few hours before dinner. Starts a touch green, along with black cherry and plum. Medium tannins, with vanilla, herb, cherry and chocolate flavors. Medium(-) finish. Pleasant. 87-88 pts.

Medium body. Still has lots of dark chocolate and coffee flavors with some dark fruits. I enjoyed it more on day 1, the last glass on day 2 was showing a lot of sour fruits on the finish

Dark red. Med red fruit, a herb and black pepper bite. the fruit is fright, red and the tannin perfectly walks the fine wine between athletic and bonny. This is vibrant with medium body. This will age well into the 2020s.

Still drinking well. Getting tart blackberry, cocoa, and black cherry. It is still quite tannic, and isn’t showing much age at all. Drink or hold.
