  • A 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon from Villa Mt Eden. Don't have a price quote for you, but their grand reserves range from $15 to $25 USD. Its 9 years old. I was given this bottle from my Mother-In-Law who stored it for several years. Its 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, and 2% Other. Aged 14 months in French and American oak. Has an aroma of moldy cork. Don't confuse this with a wine being corked, that’s something completely different. Picked up some oak and green olive on the nose as well. Flavors of cherry, oak, leather and walnut. Very tart on the palate. Has a sour cherry finish with soft tannins. Decanted this bottle, lots of Sediment. I feel this bottle may have past its peak.
