  • Light gold. A nose of bauxite, greengage, wet limestone, green apple and Meyer lemon. On opening I found the palate a little bland but with more time the flavour profile opened. It's more subtle than the Wittmann Riesling I opened the other day, lacking the acid cut and intensity. It improves with air and matched with food. Good fruit weight and acid structure. The flavours are mineral, crab apple, grapefruit and greengage and finishes quite long and dry. Excellent QPR (less than NZ$30). In the end it won me over, to get to an 88.

  • Spicier, darker, more closed and less charming than the Weißer Burgunder at this stage. Again well-balanced, fresh with good length. Needs a little more time. 91-92+
