  • Tasted alongside Forey Père et Fils' '12 Bourgogne and Rollin Père et Fils' Hautes Côtes de Beaune '12.

Initially the aroma is dominated by sulphur with flavors underneath that are rather tight and subdued, as is the case with these three 2012 Bourgognes. Much lighter in body and color than the other two wines tasted, although not inadequate and indeed quite pleasant and promising.

After two hours (plus) of air, the sulphur gives way to earth on the aroma and taste with the same dominant, mostly-sour cherry fruit flavors remaining. Wasn't sure at the get-go if this would be a hit or a dud, but it seems much more promising than I had initially thought. Like the Forey Bourgogne, this will certainly be better in 6-9 months. A great deal at $22.
