Beautiful, structured wine after a 2 hour decant. It’s in an excellent window- could be drunk within another 1-2 years but no reason to wait, the tannins have almost all resolved now. Dark fruits, a lot of depth, a bit of vanilla, old leather, a bit of earth, a beeeeeeeeeautiful long finish. As my wife said, you can taste the hands of the people who picked the grapes. When I drink Brunelli like this, it amazes me that Sangiovese can have this kind of night-like depth. Paired with a variety of meats, including Jamon Iberico, sausage and chicken, and short ribs, and it matched them all quite well. Would have gotten a higher score if it weren’t for the high alcohol. You do feel the 15% a bit, which is a slight detractor.

Pale ruby with considerable thin legs. Nose is rich, a lot of sour cherry, hint of olive. Typical Brunello flavour with a nice cherry fruit core, a wee bit of oak, medium complexity . Good acid and grippy but fine tannins. Well balanced. Medium long finish. Very tasty.

From the moment it was poured into the decanter this wine projected class and power. The nose showed complexity and the palate the same. It was long in the mouth as was the finish. What this wine really exudes is taste, power and balance. Nothing out of proportion. Really, really good.
