A lot like the 2012, the nose on this one did not start out so well. There was a slightly stinky, medicinal, and or industrial aroma. Thankfully, a little air time and swirling mostly dissipated these. Once you get past the initially funky nose, the rest of the flavors more or less correct, if a little thin. There is considerably more red raspberry and cranberry than we would expect from a Shiraz. Definitely tasting young, both the acid and tannins run rampant across the palate. Still, this is a credible, if somewhat simple, way under $10, red wine without ovbious flaws.
