Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 90.2 points

  • The nose on this deserves 97 points: classic old burg autumnal nose of dried leaves, mushrooms and forest floor. Shockingly good for a village wine, great balance. Could have used just a bit more complexity. For kicks, blended a dollop of a '10 Marcassin Sonoma Coast Pinot (poured later in the tasting) into it and it turned into every bit of a 97 point wine!!!

  • the perfect dinner wine atp because it was best within 15 minutes of opening. but id pair with with oily fish because it's delicate and may not want to be served against heavy meats.

this has the light singed tobacco and mushroomy forest floor dank cellar going on just to the point of being very interesting, but not to the point of being extreme (not that id mind that).

a typical, approachable, stunning 28 year old burg. only note of warning would be it started to become more primary and sharp as it was open (in decanter) for 2+ hours.

  • Fully mature and still fresh; melting flowers, cherry and raspberries. Quite balanced but not so intense; a good drop without being too serious.

  • Very much alive but overly tart and acidic. Not enough fruit to balance.
