color: medium purple velvet; nose: faint oak and earth; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, fruity vegetal taste, medium-length smokey-leathery finish; overall: pretty good and made with care, but very far from special -- its overly greenish taste was a big turn-off, and the $30+/bottle price tag renders this wine poor value for money. I doubt that extra time will greatly improve the juice. Still, as a fan of Maryland wines in general and Black Ankle in particular, I enjoyed trying a bottle.

This has turned out very nice. Good fruit, and none of the green of the cab franc that sometimes pops up. Took about an hour of air to really open up.
