Dark purple with thin rim. Mostly opaque. Thin legs. Nose initially oaky, later more mineral, new leather. At times notes of licorice and barnyard but very fleeting. Palate starts with burst of acidity and finishes with tannin beneath the tongue and on the roof of the mouth. Very refreshing and clean, almost mintish feeling. Enjoyed with food and afterwards on its own. Day 2 nose is blackberry and plum. Bottle says no oak, so I'm wondering what I'm tasting! Palate develops a little iron on the finish, in a good way. Still loving this!

Ripe black fruit aromas. Some plum. Silky easy drinking, much more appealing drink than the average Cahors.

Mineral and leather on nose
Mineral and taut acids emphasize tannins. Not bad adaptation towards the modern style
