  • Lots of doubts here. Very similar experience to Boda in 12/2020. Ripe, deep golden color, not chablis-like anywhere but perhaps the piercing acidity. It certainly has volume and texture but lacks tipicity and purity. I felt this was on verge to be slightly oxidized but it was actually like drinking a ripe Meursault.

  • Nice gold color, strong bouquet of pear brandy, apricot, sour apple good acidity, lots of intense fruit, balance is uneven, will it round out with time? Good potential here, more intense than a Chablis, but lack of balance makes this taste as though it is partially oxidized.

  • Les Barres vertical for 冬至 (Chicago, IL): This is a little broader and richer than I'd expect in Chablis. It's definitely got great material here, with some delicious pineapple fruit, a good hit of minerality, and some solid acids, but at the same time, the malo here is really too intense, and you lose that bracing, sharp malic acid. Nonetheless, this is a very good bottle of wine, showing great pedigree. It's just that the style isn't really what I expect when it says Chablis on the label. Can't help but wonder if they're trying to emulate Meursault.
