Mellow nose of cherries; Intially green and disjointed, it needed about two hours of decanting to come to life, when it got there it was reasonable rich and well integrated but lacked some interest; I beleive earlier tastings benefitted from poor competition - this time it had to stand on its own

No formal notes. As I recall, I thought it was a pleasant-enough blend, with some of the traditional characters of the type, if rather fruit forward and lacking dimension. I tend to appreciate Trefethen wines generally, and for me, their basic claret delivered well for its price point.

Ordered this bottle at Frisson with Mark, Monika and Christian after we finished our delicious Sin Zin. A disappointing segue... it was listed in the menu as a Cab but this turned out to be a claret-like blend. Well balanced, fruity, easy-drinking but a bit hollow in the middle. Might buy it in a store for $10.

Dark fruit base. Some pepper. Well blended.
