On the nose, quite fruity: tropical fruits. Interesting complexity. Palate: Restrained oak. Alcohol and acidity do not seem to be in balance though. The alcohol was really noticeable to me especially on the finish. (14.5% alcohol)
We are used to french chardonnays and now as we are starting to drink and learn about california wines, we asked our wine merchant for a chardonnay with restrained oak but now I've learned to ask for restrained fruit as well. I think the fruit is overripe which naturally leads to the high alcohol content. I'll be looking more closely at the alcohol content of california chardonnays in the future.

Ripe apples and white peaches on the nose and palate, bright acidity, easy to drink, not much oak, straight forward and delightful
