Still going strong with wonderful cherry, chocolate and cola aromas. Mid-full bodied, acidity and alcohol are in check. Does need some meat, as there’s quite a bit of tannins. Lovely drinking!

The most common Grenache tasting notes include: Fruity flavors: Raspberry, black cherry, and strawberry Spices: Star anise, cinnamon, and black pepper, particularly if it's aged in oak Other notes: Licorice, tobacco, dried herbs, red grapefruit, and orange rind Grenache wine made from old vines tends to exhibit more intense flavors along with earthy and herbaceous notes — not surprising since older vines often produce less fruit, thereby concentrating flavours.
Release Tasting note Dark and brooding. The nose is a swirl of plums, blueberries and licorice allsorts. This smells deep and rich with layers of woody spices, antique furniture and game. There’s a powerful entry to the palate. Fruit richness is tempered by the gritty tannins and the mineral acid backbone. There’s old vine concentration mixed with a meaty, gamy complexity, layered with brightness and fleshiness. This wine finishes long and powerfully.

Loved it, flavourful, balanced and long lasting. Will take more detailed notes next time, but just wanted to reassure fellow wine lovers this is a wonderful drop.
Note: just like Muz on the previous note, I also found quite a bit of sediment.

Exceptional Grenache tasted in 2023 sitting well inside its drinking window. No decanting required but be wary of some nasty bottle sediment.
