I have been tasting German Rieslings regularly for the last decade in that country and sworn off anything by that name attempted in California, because I have never found one worth drinking. Finally, an exception. This wine has the subtlety and crisp flavor profile I have come to enjoy in Europe. Bravo.

A rare, Alexander Mountain Riesling; made properly (nothing like the nasty sweat swill sold under the name of Riesling) in small batch. Not easy to find, but a great summer wine.

Served to some Swiss friends very familiar with Riesling, they remarked it was the first CA Riesling that they enjoyed and would purchase.

The fruit was obscured by the loads of petrol that did not blow off. Off-dry with good acidity, but hard to get past the petrol bomb.
