Drank over a couple hours w/out decanting & w/out food. Nose was not as pronounced as I had expected it to be (could have been my nose) - but it was still pleasant w/ some hints of roses and cherries. This is a bit lean, especially for the first 45 minutes w/ fine tannins (maybe just slightly unripe). After that, the tannins receded quite a bit and still primary fruit comes through. Other notes below seem pretty apt - including the spice & (refreshing) green apple (in the finish). I'll give the next bottle until at least 2020 to see how it develops.

Bright, red-fruited character with some Oregon spice and lovely length. Balanced, characterful. Excellent example of Oregon quality PN. Has years ahead, but very nice now. Minimal decant. Pretty wine; none of the over-weighted character of a few 2012's. 91-92+

Very good, but a little tight right now. Took over an hour before the nose really began to open a little and show the potential that is there. Once it did there was lovely sweet red berries, spice, floral notes, orange peel, and black tea. The palate needs to develop a little more depth and integrate a little more, but I think it will with more time in the bottle.

The Eyrie Vineyards Fiftieth Anniversary Tasting (Portland Art Museum): The nose shows an interesting mix of roses, tart cherries, and pizza crust. It's round on contact with the palate, showing spicy young cherries and raspberries. The raspberries edge out the cherries on later sips. The tannins have a dusty quality to them, and the acidity is pleasant with some green apple character.

Good spicy pinot if a tad lean, nice Oregon-y elements nonetheless.
