The 2013 spring weather was unusually cold & damp in eastern France. The 2013 vintage from Sancerre, as evinced by this watery failure, should be avoided.

Light champagne yellow, big nose of lemon curd, honeysuckle and flinty notes, rich and steely on the attack with citrus flavors and juicy acidity, finish is long but straightforward with lemon rind, passion fruit and crispness

This pale yellow white serves up aromas of lemon zest, white flowers and wet stones. Light-bodied, crisply acidic and without noticeable alcohol (12.5%), it delivers citrus and mineral flavors which hold nicely in the middle. Concluding medium-to-long and with substantial verve, it is a delightfully fresh Sauvignon Blanc that can serve well as an apéritif or as a partner to light fare. Enjoy it in its youth. Drink now-2016.

Give yourself a break from the same-old domestic off-dry whites. Sample Sancerre!
