  • Doesn't really have the typical texture I would associate with an aged semillon. Ultimately pretty boring

  • It is very sad that Grosset does not make this wine anymore. I can understand the rationale as this is a hard wine to market. It may not have the immediacy for young drinkers and for older drinkers, well..... For me though, it is a very clever combination of semillon to provide the shape of the wine and the sauvignon blanc providing the fruits that dance within the semillon structure. For 2014, the blend was well balanced with plenty of structure, acidity and fruit to make it an excellent wine. Can easily go for another 5+ years but you can drink now. It could have evolved over time to be quite an excellent Bordeaux blanc..

  • Tasted at Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Pale green colour. This has a mature nose and seems to show some oaking. It's clearly a food wine, suit creamy dishes. Perhaps a little expensive for what it is.

  • Drank a bottle last night at Orchard Hotel for my organisation's Annual Dinner and Dance.

Nose has grapefruit, white peaches, figs and apricot.

On the palate there is a delicate balance between new and old world in terms of style and flavour. Some wet rocks and white fruits with waxy and oily qualities, infused with intense fruit flavours with good structure and weight.

Quite likeable and enjoyable on it's own or paired with fried food and chicken and fish.

  • Drank a bottle at Swatou Seafood Restaurant to celebrate my father's birthday.

Good balance between fruits and minerals. Some wet rocks and unripe limes.

A cross between the new and old world styles.
