  • PNP. Could have used an hour decant. Tannins not completely resolved. Very drinkable now but will be better in 5 plus years. Earth, dark berry. Great mouthfeel and well balanced. Excellent wine.

  • Double decanted the day before drinking.

The next day, from the dregs pour, which is the pour where the dusty sediment started to show so decant stopped, then the sediment is shaken up and poured out separately. That stayed in its glass over night, and tasted the next morning. Oh wow. OMG, the best shit I might have tasted in my life.

It was darn near a perfect wine. I could not believe what was in my mouth: Cooling tobacco, complexity of luxurious soft texture, highs of delicate spices, and incredible length of softness that just continued to go and go.
    I was shocked.
I have drank other vintages of this, but this was my first 2010. Just a perfect wine.
I really don't see how a wine could get better than this.
Its color showed age beyond its years as it was brown to opaque black, but oh man, this was so delish.

I paid $100 at Total Wine Huntington Beach, but worth it.

It was balanced, lush, was a high end cigar with its cooling mouthfeel of cassis, and spices where the stars delicately spanked my tongue for well over a minute.

    I rarely rate wines.
    But this gets a 100.

    Gotta find more!

  • Still drinking greatly, maybe a tick down from our last bottle. The 1-2 hours of decanting is essential, as tannins and acid are fairly high. We’ve also been drinking killer wines all Christmas week, so its tough company for ratings.

  • My go to Super Tuscan: a blend of 7 grapes, cassis, cherry, plum, prune, tobacco, soft leather and oak, dark chocolate, dark fruit, medium to full body, great long lasting finish.

  • Dark ruby color. Robust nose of ripe dried black fruits, charred oak, vanilla, dried herbs, hint of menthol on afternote. Dry, rounded acidity on back of tongue, integrated tannins, palate follows through. Full body, fantastic balance (great backbone and structure), medium long finish.
