Inky black. I mean inky inky black black. The whole glass turned purple when I swirled it. The purple sticks to the glass wow. Color and viscosity is a 10/10. Nose tells you this is some quality stuff. Camphor, forest floor, wood, hot stone, you dont get a lot of fruit on the nose.
100 cases of this wine was made from their gravelly loam benchland site at the northern end of their vineyard called Block Eleven North. This wine is only produced in the best vintages. 337 cab clone co-fermented with 2.5% petit verdot. Aged in 65% new French oak.
Palate is tight and restrained. Not getting a lot of fruit. You would expect more given the superb color and nose.
Day 2, kind of fell apart, into plum juice.

Good. Opened up over time still a little tight and woody. It could go a few more years.
