Opened the first of my 4 bottles yesterday with raclette. This estate is made up of about 30 small parcel spread thoughout the CdP appellation with differing soil conditions. It has been in been making wine since the 1920's. The vines are 60+ years in age. Whole cluster pressing. This is one of the better vintages of this wine that I have had. The other being the 1994, 1998, 2000 and 2001. The blend is 80% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, 5% Cinsault and 5% Counoise. Deep crimson color. An earthy old world styled wine. Notes of currant, garrigue and some tar. Medium to full bodied with firm tannins at present. No rush to drink this. 91 points.

From a blend of 80% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, 5% Cinsault and 5% Counoise, the wine reached 14.5% alcohol. With a nose of Kirsch, fennel and ripe, sweet raspberries, the wine moved quickly to its smooth, open, forward, red berry finish.
