10/07 Dark ruby color - earthen herbal nose - medium-bodied -red fruit - cherry and strawberry - smooth mid-palate - structured oak fiinish with very resolved tannins - reminiscent of an older aged Bordeaux with even balanced tones throughout - simple without complexity or intensity - pleasant dinner wine - it's at its peak window now. 88 pts.

May Winetasting at Cardinal Wines, NW Suburbs Chicago (Cardinal Liquors, Crystal Lake, IL): Awesome aromas of dark red fruit, leather and earth. If the mouth matched with the aroma this would merit a mid-90 rating. Alas the flavors are decent, but not great. Cherries, rapsberries and toasty oak are found in the mouth. The mature tannins still balance the wine nicely, with a 35+ second finish. The wine disappoints with the great aromas overshadowing the good flavors.

Had this at a banquet, it was recommended by the country club. Bah!!! This wine had the unfortunate character of being both harsh and thin at the same time. I would avoid this wine.
